GENERAL INFORMATION

The 20th Annual Midwest Hazardous Materials Response Conference features the very best in both formal and informal education. This conference is a premiere event for responders!

There are exciting main program presentations and 42 dynamic workshops by the best haz mat instructors anywhere. You can choose your own schedule to match your interests.

Enjoy two days filled with hazardous materials, terrorism planning and response training! You will have an opportunity to learn from many of the best instructors in the haz mat response community. Enjoy first-class training in an interesting and informative environment!

REGISTRATION

The registration process can only be completed on-line at www.emerysafety.com. You can pay your registration fee at that time using a credit card or you can elect to pay by check and an invoice will automatically be generated to mail with your check. With either payment option, your conference confirmation will be automatically generated when you submit your registration form on-line. Please note that your registration will not be entered until payment is received. Make checks payable to Emery & Associates, Inc. The complete conference brochure can be downloaded as well. Registration forms will not be accepted by mail, fax or e-mail. The only way to register is on the web site.

Early registration is only $295.00 when paid before April 1, 2008 ($350.00 if received on or after April 1, 2008). There is no registration at the door. Substitutions will be accepted in writing before April 18, 2008. There are NO REFUNDS for any reasons after April 18, 2008 and no refunds for no-show registrants.

As noted above, confirmation will only be provided during the on-line registration process. NO confirmations will be mailed. The registration deadline is firm, so you must get your registration in on time. Be sure to save a copy of your registration confirmation form because workshop assignments cannot be confirmed by telephone.

TAX DEDUCTION

Tax law states certain education related expenses including tuition, travel, lodging and meals are tax deductible if incurred to maintain or improve professional skills required in employment. Check with your tax professional for more specific information.

CERTIFICATES

Annual refresher training as required under CFR 1910.120 (Q) can be achieved by attending conference courses. The employer is responsible for certifying that presentations qualify for refresher training. Over 11 hours of formal training will be offered, plus all the after-hours opportunities!

HOTEL INFORMATION

The Northbrook Hilton Hotel is a Four Diamond property with excellent amenities (see page 10 of the Conference Brochure). We have reserved a block of rooms to be held for conference participants until April 18, 2008 at the special conference rate of $93.00 for a single or Double/Double room. After April 18, 2008 the normal room rates will apply. The Hilton fills up quickly. Be sure to make your room reservations today.

All Star Cab provides service to and from O’Hare International airport for $24.00 each way (up to 4 people). Call (847) 531-5900 or (888) 533-4240 to prearrange your trip. Or use their courtesy phone at each end of the lower level claim areas.

MESSAGES

Call the Northbrook Hilton at (847) 480-7500 to have a message posted on the board at the conference registration desk. In an emergency, you must insist that the message be delivered to the conference desk to be announced immediately.

AIRPORT INFORMATION

The Northbrook Hilton is located just 10 miles north of O'Hare International Airport, which is served by all major airlines. Reasonable airfares are available on most airlines serving O'Hare. Car rental is readily available at O'Hare through all major rental companies.

MEALS

The registration fee includes all breaks, lunch buffet on Friday, complimentary food & drink at the Exhibitors’ Party Friday night and lunch buffet Saturday, plus the conference presentations binder.

The Friday night Exhibitors’ Party is a conference highlight, featuring an incredible door prize drawing worth thousands of dollars. Extra meal tickets for your spouse or guest will be available for a nominal fee at the conference registration desk.
