TRAINING SEMINAR
Hazardous Materials "Boot Camp"

This course helps provide compliance with 29 CFR 1910.120 (e) (8) and 29 CFR 1910.120 (q) (8) for annual refresher training. Day One is a didactic refresher for Technicians. This condensed class covers all aspects of haz mat response, from "Absorbent" to "Zoning"!

The instructor asks random questions of the students on a rotating basis. The interactive format is not intimidating, and allows everyone to take chances and make mistakes without embarrassment.

Day Two features practical exercises that have been developed and refined over a 15 year period to achieve maximum output. Participants are assigned various scenarios that require them to develop an action plan. These realistic scenarios are mitigated as a member of an entry team.

Each four-person team is rotated through scenarios before "the final response." This final scenario causes each team to work through the complete response cycle. They are briefed and then pre-entry medical exams are conducted. They must handle each aspect of the response in a safe and efficient manner in order to pass. The team is actually decontaminated and then receives post-entry medical exams.

The participants really get into this course. The harder we work the students, the better they like it!
