Two courses are available. The Basic Foam Class is 8 hours long, including half classroom and half field evolutions. The classroom portion covers terminology, hazard assessment, proportioning foam, types of foam, foam nozzles, foam eductors and techniques for applying foam correctly and safely. The field evolutions demonstrate setting up to operate a foam evolution, foam nozzle operation and application techniques.

The Advanced Foam Class is 16 hours and includes everything covered in the Basic Foam Class, plus more extensive practical "hands-on" experience.

The host is responsible for supplying training foam concentrate, foam equipment, a pumper and suitable field evolution site.
