May 5, 2026: Conference Update

We toured the new site for the 2027 Midwest Haz Mat Conference last week. This is a VERY unique location and I am positive you will love it. There are plenty of classrooms and, more importantly, room for the hands-on workshops. The hotel-based conference model served us well for 37 years, but with the switch to a new facility we are instigating a new model that allows for more hands-on workshops. Our goal is 75%+ practical workshops in 2027 and nobody else offers this type of haz mat conference.

This will include workshops by the top haz mat instructors in the country using props for cargo tankers, rail cars, non-bulk containers and a plethora of other learning experiences. Don’t be surprised to see first-class training props and high-tech training aids driven by artificial intelligence in the near future. We are taking this conference to the next level and positioning it to be #1 hands-on haz mat conference in the country.

That’s the good news. The bad news is in order to accommodate this new hands-on training model we will have to cap the registration at a maximum of 200 attendees. Once registration hits 200 people it will automatically shut off so you will need to move quickly once registration opens at the end of 2026. We will post registration information on this web site once it is available. We will also send an email to anyone who attended the Midwest Haz Mat Conference in the past 5 years.

I will be leading the conference during this transition through the 2027 conference on April 29, 30, May 1, 2026. And we are partnering with the best people to run the conference going forward. I feel confident that these changes will position this conference to remain the premier haz mat conference in the Midwest for many years to come. There will be a few minor changes, but you can expect the same quality as the past 37 years.
